Touchy Feely explores possible solutions to this question. Touchy Feely uses tactile technology (a multi sensory input device known as the Tactex pad) to encode and transmit the characteristics of touch. This information is then sent across the internet and decoded as visual information on the receivers screen. Using Touchy Feely, you are able to zoom in on different areas of your companion's body and touch them as you would if they were beside you.
